Sparkle | Tuesday
My sister and I did a little project in the hopes of stirring up some much needed
inspiration. She picked a word and we photographed subjects that (in our eyes)
described the word. She randomly picked the word "sparkle".
Today started off really beautiful inside of my cave. The light was streaming through
the white blinds, and I worked furiously on my projects for work. Then, right when
I decided to work on our little photography project, the sun decided to drop below
the trees in the back of our apartment building. Hmph. I'm not happy with my results.
It reminds me of a forced high school photography project.
The bottom photo is a photo of a music box that was given to me by one of our Japanese
distributors when he stayed with us back in February. It plays a cute little tune that amuses
me sometimes before bed. I know it doesn't really sparkle much, but for some reason,
every time I wind the little metal handle, the music reminds me of blue skies and sparkling
blue water. That has to count for something.
Today has been full of ups and downs. Violent ups and downs. With the beautiful day turned
gloomy, and the neighbors laughing hysterically one moment, to them screaming and crying
the next, it's hard to feel anything but somber. I hate hearing the faint sobs through the
walls that divide us. As annoying as they can possibly be, I can't help but feel sorry for
them.
Time to put on the headphones and finish more work. I hope your days are filled with much
more sun and cheer.
xx
