With My Back To The Sun

Going to see Múm tonight. I'm extremely excited and have been in love with their
music for years.

One particular memory stands out for me, when I think of their music. I was in San
Francisco, going to a shop that Joe and Lauren's friend ran. I remember just having
bought Múm's album "Finally we are no one" and listening to "Green grass of tunnel"
over and over, staring out the window. It was my first train ride, and I remember it
so clearly. That fleeting feeling of inspiration coursing through me, not realizing just
how temporary it was. But then, that was the beauty of it. These kind of memories are
irreplaceable, and so etched into my mind that I can still remember the smell of those
poorly upholstered seats and the subtle sway of the train over the tracks. Sometimes
the perfect picture isn't a print, but a memory. My favorite kind..

  1. I love when music bookmarks moments in life. I think you put that song on a mix you made me a long time ago, and it does remind me of that time. Wide open spaces and cold weather and inspiration everywhere in between. I love this line: "sometimes the perfect picture isn't a print, but a memory. my favorite kind." So true.
