Lit like a star
Last night I watched a meteor shower from an airplane. It was so incredible, I couldn't believe
how many I was seeing all at once! 38,000 ft in the air, in the middle of the ocean is the
perfect place to see the most stars. I don't think i'd want to do it again, for obvious reasons.
It was just really beautiful, and it made me feel a little better after all that anxiety from the
emergency landings.
These photos reminded me of falling stars. My sister and I were playing around with spark-
lers one night out side of my moms house. Sorry we used so many, nicole! I got a little
carried away with how pretty the little crackles of light were. Tiny explosions. Falling stars.
Laughing in the dark. Time moving along too quickly.
I wish I could stop time sometimes. Or go back to certain moments. Oh the places i'd go!
Miss my sis.

That's crazy! Joe and I went out in the back yard that night in a veil of semi darkness. We sat on chairs in the middle of the moist grass looking up at the stars. It was so beautiful and peaceful. It almost felt like a meditation because it was so quiet and all our energy became focused on catching falling stars with our eyes. I remember asking Joe if you could see falling stars from air plane windows, as I thought of your hellish ride over the Pacific. He didn't think you could because of the perspective of the plane to the sky. It's so amazing to know that you can!
ReplyDeletehow weird!! i didn't even know there was a shower that night. Was just staring out the window trying to be normal and seen about 4 in 30 seconds and thought, 'ok something is definitely going on'. i've never seen shooting stars from an airplane but it was insane/beautiful. that's awesome that we were looking up at the same sky at the same time. :) miss you already.
