Vast & Endless
I've been up since 5 am. At first I was laying in bed staring at the back of my eyelids, trying to
think of boring, random things to help me go back to sleep. Then I realized, it's not going to
happen. I have a hard time sleeping throughout the night nowadays. Trying to re-train my brain
to sleep in darkness is harder than expected.
Working on the website and editing all day today. Hoping to finish a few old projects and get it
out to clear room for new ones.
Been so stressed out lately. I think stress is contributing to breakouts. I picked up a wedding
magazine from Borders yesterday and there was a page on acne & breakouts and how they're
caused. Somewhat interesting:
Complextion Perfection
---------------------
ACNE
Acne is caused when the outer layer of our skin produces too many "dead" cells, which then mix with
sebum (skin's natural oil) to form nasty pore blockers called comedones. Call the A-team- the vitamin
A-team, that is- and regulate cell production by munching apricots, mangoes, sweet potatoes and skiitake
mushrooms.
DEHYDRATION
All skin types can suffer from dehydration- to see if your skin does, gently push your skin upwards: "If
it falls into a fine horizontal line this is a sure sign of dehydration." Essential fatty acids (EFAs)- found in walnuts
and cold-water fish such as salmon, trout and sardines- hydrate by attracting water to cells.
Dullness
Sometimes skin just isn't as good at multi-tasking as you are. So when stress hits, it gets side-tracked from turning
over new cells to deal with bigger issues, robbing you of your aisle-worthy radiance. Thank goodness, then, for
goji berries. "They have EFAs, antioxidants, minerals, B vitamins and 18 amino acids- they're the ultimate
nutritious food,"
-----------------
Here's something that I found rather interesting:
Pimples on your forehead indicate you're eating too many sugary or greasy foods; chin spots are hormonal (nice
one, periods!; and milia (tiny white spots near the eyes) mean too much dairy and alcohol." And those painful,
red, under-the-skin spots? "They're due to stress. Drink camomile tea by the bucket load to calm down, and
swap spicy, acidic or vinegary foods for anything bland.
------------------
Okay, enough about acne and stress-causing pimples. I've been wishing to see snow so bad, but it looks like
we probably won't be taking a trip up to the mountains this winter. It's sad, but I can always live through photo-
graphs other people have recently taken, and live vicariously through them! Hopefully next winter we'll be
able to bask in that cold winter sun and squish our little boots through the freshly laid snow. :)

Also, Nicole inspired me to write up a resolution list, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. I'll work
on it through the day. I'm not usually big into resolutions, mainly cause I just don't care, but this
year is different. Somehow I feel as though it's going to be different, and that says a lot. So thanks,
Nicole. I'm gonna whip up a batch of words that actually mean something. I'll post them later.
In the meantime, have a good day.
